Resonance

is a story centered around love & loss, grief & acceptance. It follows an old man living in his home, struggling to separate from routine after his wife passes away. A pivotal accident during teatime causes his wife’s spirit to rise from their home, and the two are able to have a final dance together before she leaves forever. He is no longer stricken by grief, he loves her dearly, but he is free. “Resonance” combines multiple types of handmade artistic media to create a folk-style, quiet film with a surrealist twist.

“Resonance” was successfully funded by way of Kickstarter in August of 2019, and was in production with aid from equipment and space from California Institute of the Arts. During the pandemic, director Meredith Quinn finished animation remotely in her small garage studio is Los Angeles, California, and is currently working on post production.
